When Nir Rafael was just three years old, he received a diagnosis of neuroblastoma. He underwent eight cycles of treatment at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Israel. Subsequently, his family traveled to Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City for further treatment. Upon their arrival, they were introduced to Chai Lifeline and greatly appreciated the compassionate support provided by their dedicated case manager. "We could not have managed without the support from Chai Lifeline," reflected his mom. "Chai Lifeline was our light in the darkness."
Nir Rafael fondly recalls his connection with Camp Simcha and Chai Lifeline: "I arrived at Camp Simcha after receiving clearance from my doctors. It felt like I had entered a dream, I was ready to stay there forever... Now, back in Israel, life remains challenging with my father in the army and frequent rocket sirens. However, when my friends from Chaiyanu-Chai Lifeline Israel visit, I forget about everything!”
